The Canal Market District works to improve community access to healthy, local food and promote economic development rooted in the county’s history, culture, and local bounty. The farmers market is held each Tuesday from June to September (4-6pm) and each Friday from May through October (4-7pm). The market accepts SNAP, WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition coupons, making fresh, local food accessible to Newark residents of all income levels. The pavilion is also available for rental to host gatherings of all sizes - public events, weddings, graduation parties and more!
